It's very hard to understand, this heart thing. How can she really need such drastic measures taken to preserve her life? She is so gorgeous, happy and pink. I mean really, have you seen the baby rolls?
She is cute and doesn't look like a chd baby at all and that is what makes it that much harder. Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you as you await this surgery. I wish I had some wonderful advice in how to handle all of this, but there is nothing I can say other than I understand. It's hard! (HUGS)
We are a fun loving family who enjoys just about everything as long as we are together. We have an awesome 8-year-old who loves to play baseball, swim, play legos, Cub Scouts and Wii. He is kind, loving and very outgoing, he keeps us on our toes! He is in 2nd Grade and so excited about it. Our darling 18-month-old loves to laugh and play, she is sassy and doesn't stop to think if she can do something, she just does it. She had open heart surgery at 6 months old to correct a heart defect, Tetralogy of Fallot. Her journey has inspired us, and we are all the better for it.
July 2009: "Mom, I have super powers!" "Oh what are they?" I ask. "Poop and pee," he says. "Okay, and what do you use them for?" I ask. "To poop and pee!" (I promised this was our secret, so don't tell anyone!)
We were getting ready to go on a mommy and son date, and Triston asks, "Should I get ready and handsome?" I replied, "Yes, we have a hot date!" To which he said: "Mom, this is not a hot date it is sort of a Mommish/Kiddish date."
